I have not been a fan the redesigned Superman costume.  I think it’s clunky looking and the excess lines just make it look busy in a way Superman’s costume really shouldn’t.  However, Kenneth Rocafort has made a pretty good go of it here, and I think he’s the first person I’ve seen to make it look decent.  De-emphasizing all those lines and making it look less bulky were definitely smart moves.
Due to the solid New 52 push and, whether they’ll admit it or not, a litigation-driven desire to make Superman look less like his original Action Comics #1 self, we’re not probably going to get the old trunks-on-the-outside circus strongman-looking Superman again, I get that.  And I’m not morally opposed to updating the look a bit, I just want what we get to be better than, well, what we got.  And Rocafort, I think, is a step in that direction.  Good on ya, Kenneth!
